The Transition to a Commission
The Jersey Police Complaints Authority became the Jersey Police Complaints Commission on 5 December 2025.
The transition to a Commission accompanied new legislation consisting of amendments to both Regulations and Primary Law to support the modernisation of the management of Police Complaints. The new law was passed during March 2023 and came into effect when the Regulations were approved by the States Assembly on 5 December 2025.
